We began with Jane and Kelvin in 2013. Kelvin was 4years old while Jane was 7, and both had never been to school. They had just lost their both parents to the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria and were living with their grandmother who could barely provide one meal per day for them. One busy Saturday afternoon after an advocacy program for child education, we saw Jane sleeping by the community walkway. Beside her was a tray filled with goods which she was meant to sell. She was smart and beautiful. Having been stressed from the day’s hawking, she couldn’t communicate properly with us but her smile was enough to melt our hearts. We took her back home and her grandmom accepted our offer to send her and her little brother to school. Today, Jane is one of our brightest pupils and her willingness to learn has encouraged several other children in her community to go to school. Her brother, too, is doing excellently well and hopes to become a Medical Doctor tomorrow.

Hope for African Children Initiative (HACI) is a Non-Governmental Organization that expands and improves comprehensive early childhood care and education, especially for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children, children with disabilities, young people, and victims of disasters and violent extremism. HACI is committed to helping vulnerable children and communities to access quality, all-round education support and, vocational, technical and entrepreneurial training aimed at self-sustainability.

HACI harnesses resources towards bridging the enrollment gap into schools between vulnerable out-of-school children and children in school. It provides educational materials, healthcare and other psycho-social support programs for children with special educational needs, with a special focus on ensuring girls’ full and equal access to and achievement in basic education of good quality.

Since 2013, we have supported over 160 children just like Jane and Kelvin to go to school and impacted over 1000 children through our medical support and various psycho-social support programs. These children need our continued support to stay in school.  We have also within this time, renovated dilapidated schools, adopted schools, provided infrastructure and learning aids for children and implemented various outstanding projects.

However, there remain thousands of African children who need this opportunity to go to school and bring their dreams to life. Millions of them go to school without meals and educational materials. Our goal is to find and help them, one child at a time…

We strongly believe in the potentials of every child. Thus, we are also engaged in ensuring that the less privileged children, orphans and other kids with special needs are cared for. We reach out to some critically-in-need Orphanages and Juvenile Remand Homes often. Thus, we need funding to provide basics needs to orphanages and education assistance to orphans. We need funding as well to provide medical services and equipment to disabled persons and the less privileged at large. We have a large cause load but limited resources to meet up with these needs. EVERY DOLLAR GOES A LONG WAY TO IMPACTING AND SAVING LIVES.

Through your support, we will be able to achieve our fundraising goal and it would be our pleasure to have you donate towards these great projects that will bring love and education to thousands of African children and families. And together we can touch more lives and inspire a great future for African Children.

Looking for a way to touch lives and inspire a great future for vulnerable and disadvantaged children, children with disabilities, victims of disasters and violent extremism in Africa? Then, support Hope for African Children Initiative (HACI) to Save the African Children…
